The Specialized Workforce Training Center will teach the people we support work skills to prepare them to enter the workforce.

Our training programs will build skills and explore different careers to prepare for successful community employment. Each area will have a designated trainer to work intensively on teaching skills for future employment in those areas.

 
 
  • Explore the growing hospitality industry, allowing for people to not only gain work skills in addition to guest and customer service skills that will be transferable to many other workplaces. Hospitality Careers are occupations that provide a wide variety of experiences and much opportunity for growth and development.

    From Guestroom attendant to Front Desk Representative, you will explore and learn the various day-to-day responsibilities, challenges, and benefits of working in the hospitality world. Gaining these skills, as well as having on-the-job work experiences, will not only assist in gaining employment but will help to ensure people remain successful in this ever-changing field.

  • The exciting world of culinary will provide you with the opportunity to learn how to work in a very fast-paced and creative environment efficiently and safely. Culinary training will allow you to gain skills needed for entry-level employment in the field. An experienced Chef will provide learning through practical skill development and on-the-job practice in a culinary workplace.

    You will gain the skills and confidence needed to excel. These skills are essential to assisting people in being successful in a diverse variety of culinary professions.

  • Cleanliness and safety couldn’t be more important. Janitorial careers are an essential part of our lives. In this training, you will get the opportunity to learn safety measures, what daily responsibilities look like, skills needed to operate and maintain equipment, and working with local businesses to gain on-the-job experience, ensuring buildings and areas are clean and safe for all. Having this entry level experience and knowledge will assist in ensuring you are prepared to enter and thrive in the janitorial and custodial workforce.

  • On-the-job skills are important to learn but just as important are those essential job readiness skills needed to obtain those jobs. Topics such as interview skills, communication, professionalism, resume building, teamwork, and supporting others are a few of the important areas that job readiness skill training will assist you with. Allowing you to gain these skills prior to entering the workforce is essential for your future success and personal growth.
