    Housing

    Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) and supported apartments located throughout Erie County. Sites are geared to the needs of the residents and support a variety of needs, including medical and behavioral supports. The composition of the IRAs may be all-female, all-male, co-ed, transition-based and are comprised of similarly aged residents. Referrals are submitted to the Developmental Disability Regional Office (DDRO).

    Rental Subsidy and Transition Funds

    The Arc Erie County New York supports people to live as independently in the community as possible. Financial assistance from OPWDD is available for income-eligible individuals in order to assist them with transitioning to an independent community living situation and paying rent for their own apartments. Individuals enrolled are often linked to other community support services, such as Community Habilitation.
